About BTC Wall
BTC Wall came to life in 2024. Nothing fancy – we just wanted a Bitcoin wallet that’s easy to use, doesn’t ask you to be a developer, and doesn’t hand over your money to someone else. Sounds obvious, right? And yet, somehow, most wallets either overwhelm you with settings and jargon, or quietly put your coins under someone else’s control.
We didn’t like that choice. So we built something different.
Why We Built It
There are plenty of Bitcoin wallets out there. Some are powerful, some are pretty — most are either too complicated or too centralized. We figured it shouldn't be that way. We thought it shouldn't be this way. If crypto is about freedom, the tools should be reflecting that.
BTC Wall is for people who just want to send, receive and store Bitcoin without learning a whole new language. No extra noise, no middlemen, no hidden tradeoffs. Just you, your keys, and your coins – the way it should be.
What We Care About
- Clarity – a wallet should make sense at first glance
- Security – your assets stay yours, period
- Simplicity – less stuff, more control
- Decentralization – no one touches your keys but you
- Promoting education in practice – we help new users by answering questions through support and publishing articles on the practical aspects of using bitcoin
Who is Behind the Project?
BTC Wall is supported by Digital Freedom Foundation (DFF for short), a small nonprofit based in Liechtenstein. It’s not some big operation — just people who care about digital rights, decentralized tech, and giving individuals more control over their money and data. The goal isn’t to "scale fast" or attract hype. We’re here to build tools that work and stay out of your way.
Key People Involved in the Project
Michael Carter – Founder & Lead Developer Michael has been building software for over 15 years. MIT grad, worked in a few private research teams, mostly around cryptography and fintech stuff. He’s not much for public appearances – prefers to keep a low profile and focus on the code. BTC Wall is a continuation of what he’s been doing for years: building quiet, dependable tools that respect your privacy.
Sophia Lane – Co-Founder & Creative Director Sophia leads design at BTC Wall. Her background’s in digital media — she studied in Amsterdam and worked on user interfaces for education platforms and a couple of startups. She’s all about making things clean and intuitive, without overthinking it. If the wallet feels easy to use, that’s her work speaking.
